the front door must be one of the more important components of home. it is the first impression visitors experience and will influence the way guests or strangers perceive your home. after all this is where we welcome people into our space and it can say a lot about our style and what to expect inside.
we think an entry door should pack a punch, make a statement, so it has been something on our minds for sometime now. we are very interested in a company called Architectural Traditions out of Tucson, Arizona. This company uses traditional methods of crafting wood doors for the entry as well as interior doors. Our local supplier Building Specialties of Durango is a dealer and has some beautiful examples of exterior doors in their showroom.

Incensed Cedar with a Wirebrush finish and Traditional Mexican Clavos |
This door is similar to the one we liked in the showroom. I think we will add a sidelight, but the finish and color is beautiful. Jeff Baxter at Building Specialties will be helping us to design the perfect door for our project!
Here are a few other doors that I think are pretty and could great a great first impression for any house!
